A new piece is coming to life in the art studio. It's 22 inches by 28 inches which is more space than I'm used to working with. This is a welcome challenge and it's fun to stretch myself as I work to make this painting. I've been photographing the new artwork as it's being built to give you a peek into my studio process.
I began by blocking out sections of color. I roughed in the color "map" for the artwork's under-painting. This helped me continue to form my vision for the final piece.
At this point I needed to take a break and absorb the progress so far. The plan was adjusted a bit and the color palette revisited.
Stay tuned for more close ups and to see the final picture.
Update: This painting is complete and ready for you to check out!
